Still life has become another strand of my practice — a chance to slow down and really notice the quiet beauty in everyday things. I’m drawn to simple forms like bowls, cups, vases and flowers, and I let their shapes lead the way. There’s something grounding about keeping those forms honest and letting colour and texture do the expressive work instead.

This series leans into simplicity and restraint, trusting that sometimes a single curve or a gentle shift in colour can say more than anything complicated. Some of the newer pieces play with pattern too,  repeats and layered shapes that sit alongside the objects without taking over.

They’re quieter, more spacious paintings, but they still carry that same curiosity and love of materials that run through my abstract work. They give me room to pause, pay attention and notice the small traces objects hold from being used and lived with.
