Visual Artist Bursary Award
I'm absolutely delighted to have been awarded a Visual Artist Bursary Award to support participation in the 'Language of Colour' course and development of a new body of work. These awards are supported by Creative Scotland funding, provided by the National Lottery in partnership with Aberdeen City Council.
I will be focusing more intensely on colour in this project, particularly the concept of colour contrasts, harmony, discord, balance, arrangement and appearance. I will also be exploring the colour palettes of some of the best known styles of art, such as the impressionists (pastel colours) and the Fauves (complementary colours).
Consequently, I hope to have a better understanding of colour: what works, what doesn't, its use and how it communicates.
I'm delighted that three of my paintings were selected for this year's Aberdeen Artists Society Exhibition held at the Aberdeen Art Gallery.
The exhibition is on until the 3rd of July, 2022. Pop along if you can, it's well worth a visit.

I was absolutely overjoyed that my painting 'Ponder The Moment' was selected to be part of the Aberdeen Artists Society 2021 Online Exhibition. It was very exciting to have my painting selected to show in this exhibition for the very first time.
